Brigette A. Erwin, PhD, Director
Dr. Erwin is a licensed clinical psychologist with expertise in treating children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families affected by anxiety, depression, and related problems. She is a nationally recognized speaker and author, and has written numerous professional journal articles and book chapters on the topic of the anxiety disorders. In addition, Dr. Erwin trains other professionals in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders. Currently she is on the executive board of the Philadelphia Behavior Therapy Association, the membership committee of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, and the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary Archdiocese of Philadelphia Admissions Board.
Dr. Erwin received her Ph.D. from Temple University and completed a National Institute of Mental Health postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Erwin has since served as Director of the OCD Program at the Anxiety and Agoraphobia Treatment Center and Associate Director of the Adult Anxiety Clinic of Temple University. The quality of Dr. Erwin’s work and her dedication to the study and treatment of the anxiety disorders has been recognized with awards from the Anxiety Disorders Association of America, the National Institute of Mental Health, the Medical University of South Carolina, Temple University, and Boston College.
Joanna Petrides, PsyD
Dr. Petrides is a licensed clinical psychologist with experience treating anxiety, depression, behavioral disorders, personality disorders, and related problems among adolescents, adults, couples, and families.
Dr. Petrides received her Psy.D. from Midwestern University. She completed a pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Linden Oaks Psychiatric Hospital at Edward Hospital, Illinois. Dr. Petrides has provided inpatient and outpatient treatment and psychological assessment to a diverse population of adolescents and adults. She has trained mental health professionals and hospital staff in the application of empirically-based treatments, and has been invited to lecture to graduate students on the topics of mental health and psychotherapy treatments. The quality of Dr. Petrides’s research has been recognized by the American Psychological Association.
Erin L. Roemer, Psy.D.
Dr. Roemer is a postdoctoral psychology resident with experience providing evidence-based treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and families of anxiety and related disorders. Dr. Roemer is trained in evidenced-based cognitive-behavioral treatment (CBT) and has given numerous national presentations on evidence-based treatments and practices at the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) and National Association of School Psychology (NASP) conferences. In addition, she has been the recipient of research awards and her work has been published in professional journal articles.
Dr. Roemer received her Psy.D. in Combined Clinical and School Psychology from Kean University and completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship at Lincoln Hills/Copper Lake School. Dr. Roemer received her master’s degree in Educational Psychology and she is a certified School Psychologist in New Jersey. Currently, Dr. Roemer is working towards her Pennsylvania clinical licensure and educational specialist certificate.
